The China Red Star Design Award is a professional design award supported by the Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission. It was co-sponsored by the China Industrial Design Association and the Beijing Industrial Design Promotion Center in 2006.
 
Following the principle ‘fair, justice, commonweal, high level and internationalisation’,the Red Star Design Award attracts a total of 33 countries and regions, more than 5700 enterprises participating, nearly 50 thousand products, it has become the world’s largest and most representative and internationally influential design award, known as the Oscars of China’s design.
