Wondfo Supports Primary Healthcare in Ethiopia Through Diagnostic Equipment Donation

July 15,2026 (Edit) Wondfo

Wondfo has donated 100 units Finecare™ FIA Meter II Plus SE (FS-114) analyzers, together with Finecare™ HbA1c and C-Reactive Protein (CRP) Rapid Quantitative Tests, to Ethiopia's Ministry of Health, supporting efforts to strengthen diagnostic capacity across primary healthcare facilities.

Designed for decentralized and primary healthcare settings, the Finecare™ FIA Meter II Plus SE (FS-114) delivers rapid quantitative testing across a broad range of clinical applications. As part of the donation, the Finecare™ HbA1c test supports diabetes screening and long-term glycemic monitoring with results available in just five minutes using only 10μL of fingertip blood, while the Finecare™ CRP test supports the assessment of inflammatory conditions with results in three minutes. Together, these solutions will help strengthen early diagnosis and disease management in communities across Ethiopia.

The donation ceremony brought together representatives from the Ministry of Health and Wondfo to reaffirm their shared commitment to improving access to quality diagnostic services throughout the country.

Speaking at the ceremony, Dr Dereje Duguma, State Minister of Health of Ethiopia, expressed his appreciation for Wondfo's contribution. He noted that the donated analyzers and test kits will help enhance laboratory diagnostic capabilities at primary healthcare facilities, enabling healthcare professionals to deliver more timely and effective patient care.
Dr Duguma also highlighted Ethiopia's commitment to expanding local manufacturing capacity and welcomed Wondfo to explore future investment opportunities that support the sustainable development of the country's healthcare industry.

Mark Xu, Head of Wondfos International Sales & Marketing Centre, reaffirmed the company's long-term commitment to supporting Ethiopia's healthcare system.
"Expanding access to reliable diagnostics requires close collaboration between governments, healthcare providers and industry partners," said Mark Xu. "We are honored to support Ethiopia's healthcare development and look forward to strengthening our partnership with the Ministry of Health to improve diagnostic services across the country."

As a global leader in point-of-care diagnostics, Wondfo remains committed to expanding access to innovative diagnostic technologies that enable earlier detection and more informed clinical decision-making. By working closely with governments and healthcare partners around the world, the company continues to strengthen healthcare systems and improve patient outcomes where timely diagnosis is needed most.
